What is APIS?

APIS is a water-soluble additive designed for the construction of new roads or the rehabilitation of unpaved roads. It acts chemically on clay particles in the soil, reducing their ability to retain water. This allows the soil to be compacted more densely, increasing its strength and durability.

How does APIS work on the ground?

Exchange Mechanism #1:

Hydrogen ions (H+) in the soil, which attract water, are replaced by metal cations. This significantly reduces the soil's ability to retain adsorbed water.

Exchange Mechanism #2:

Metal ions in the soil, bound to APIS, lose their ability to store water molecules, making the soil less susceptible to moisture.

Hydrophobic Action:

APIS creates a hydrophobic barrier, preventing water from being absorbed by the soil, including through capillarity.

Chemical Neutralization:

APIS neutralizes soil acidity, promoting chemical balance and greater stability.

Result:

The changes caused by APIS are permanent, making the soil more resistant, impermeable and with a greater load capacity.
